About Us
Allen Performing Arts Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to using the performing arts as a tool for expression, healing, and transformation. We serve both youth and adults, offering dynamic programming that nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and strengthens community through music, theatre, and storytelling.
Founded by Onnie Allen, a visionary artist and educator, Allen Performing Arts is rooted in the belief that the arts can be a powerful force for change. Onnie creates original musical productions that reflect her lived experiences—powerful narratives that open space for shared healing, joy, and connection across communities.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to uplifting young girls ages 12–18 through a life-changing 18-week program. This unique curriculum helps participants build a strong sense of self-worth while equipping them with real-life skills. Focus areas include:
- Self-love and personal empowerment
- Emotional intelligence
- Financial literacy
- Practical life skills for success
This program isn’t just about performance—it’s about becoming whole, confident individuals ready to take on life’s challenges with purpose and resilience.
At Allen Performing Arts Inc., we are more than an arts organization—we are a movement. A place where stories are told, lives are changed, and communities come together through the shared language of the arts.
Join us and be part of something truly powerful.
